Research Interests

Development of analytical methods, techniques, and sampling protocols for measuring the stable isotopic composition of atmospheric trace organic compounds including CO2, non-methane hydrocarbons, and oxygenated volatile organic compounds. Preparation and isotopic analysis of marine sediments, natural waters, and other environmental samples for CHNOS studies. Ancillary projects and interests include creating reliable isotopic reference materials and calibration standards for isotopic measurements. Modifying analytical instrumentation to improve measurement sensitivities and detection limits toward the overall goal of improved accuracy, precision, and reliability.
