Gillian Small Promotes Entrepreneurial Universities

Dr. Gillian Small, Vice Chancellor of Research at the City University of New York and Executive Director of the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center, recently joined a gathering of high-level academic, venture capital and government leaders to discuss effective strategies for launching university start-ups and to showcase world-class start-ups.

Dr. Small was among a prominent line-up of speakers at the University Startups and Global 1000 Conference, an unusual combined conference hosted by the National Council of Entrepreneurial Tech Transfer (NCET2) on March 10-12 in Washington, D.C. Dr. Small participated in the National Innovation Summit, an exclusive pre-conference meeting of congressional staffers, university administrators, incubators and venture capital groups. She also served on a panel featuring innovative collaborations across New York State.

NCET2 is an organization of more than 200 entrepreneurial research universities, including CUNY, that promotes best practices in the creation and funding of university startups by supporting entrepreneurship and providing entrepreneurial education.
